The boys are always so excited to carve pumpkins EXCEPT for digging out the seeds & all the nastiness that comes with it!! That ends up being MY job as it was always MY MOMS job too. However, they did at least attempt it.
Getting ready....rubber gloves & all :)
It is nice that the boys are old enough now to do the carving themselves. While they were carving I started the process of washing the seeds. We HAVE to make roasted pumpkin seeds!!
Here's the pumpkin patch.....
They decided they should all hold a small pumpkin for the picture. Suprisingly, it's a pretty good pic....everyone's looking & smiling:)
So...WOW!! The last time I blogged it was JANUARY!! Can you believe it...Yes I'm sure you can! So much has happened since then as you can imagine. Let's begin...
We finally closed on a house the begining of May!!! YAY!!! However, it was not our original house that we were having built. Long story short...it fell thru 2 days before closing due to the builder not willing to fix mistakes that were his fault. Very frustrating!!! NEXT, we found another lot in a small town & found a new builder. Another long story short...lot was bank owned & once at the closing table the builder was informed there were several leins against the lot. 45 days later we still hadn't closed on the lot let alone started on the house!! UGH!! So, once again back to square one! After looking at MANY more houses we found this one....We LOVE it!!
The boys have became great friends with the 2 boys across the street who are about their same age. I'm so happy it turned out this way! I was so worried about the boys having to move again and start at another new school and make new friends!! Thankfully, they have adjusted so well!!
Anyway, we did take a camping trip back to the Big Horns in July. It was a long drive back with the kiddos but so worth it! It was fun to see everyone & we also celebrated Caden's 7th birthday while we were there. We also took the kids to a Rockies game. They were so busy eating that I don't think they even watched the game!! But we all had a good time.
The boys played baseball this summer too. They were on the same team which worked out great for us! They really enjoyed playing as much as we enjoyed watching them!!
Alli playing in the dirt at the fields
And before we knew it, it was time for school to start!! Colten & Caden love their new school and teachers. They even rode the bus to school the first day! They didn't want me to even meet them at the school...sniff sniff :( Made me sad yet happy at the same time!
First day of school
Well, there's a quick update on our life over the summer! We've been busier than ever just like everyone else!! There WILL be more posts to follow soon.....
Tomorrow will be a week since we moved into our little rental house in Loveland. Everything that we NEED is unpacked(although Loren & I's definition of need varies). We left a lot of boxes and furniture in the garage! We are still looking for a house to buy & have also met with a builder to see about building again. We'll see what happens with all that! For now we are happy to be all together again & back to normal. Our next big event is school starting on Monday! Wish us luck!!
